A different take on Obliterators

Postby rednekkboss on July 25th, 2010, 10:38 pm

The latest batch for my friend/client's Thousand Sons Army. He's most likely to use these spider mutant thingies as Obliterators, but they may sub as Terminators too. Pretty happy about the way they came out and they should get to him in time for Toronto Gamesday. :D Maybe some day I'll get a chance to work on my own armies.

Look very awesome. Would like to see more closes ups!

Those are awesome! Way better than the crappy GW oblits.
K-Pot, LBE, and a thin coat of break-free is not an authorized uniform. Command decisions DO NOT need to be ratified by a 2/3rds majority. May not bring a drag queen to the battalion formal dance.

Here's some close ups from the original photos. The guys are all packed up for mailing, so I couldn't take new ones.
I did 3 guys with the flame arm, but did them in different colors to tell them apart easier on the tabletop.

I kind think of this guy as talking to the flaming skull he has just summoned. :D

And this is one of the close combat guys. My friend Sean is a Thousand Sons purist of sorts, using the fluff from the original Chaos books of the early 90's to build his army. Its an all Tzeentch army, all thousand sons and he has a very strict way he plays it/builds army lists. Since the CSM Codex is not exactly as shiny and wonderful as the newer books (and lagging sorely behind IMHO) this can hurt him in tournaments, but he's very stubborn about it. The Oblits are a new concession for him that gives him much needed firepower and close combat if needed. Someday, I hope to drag my nurgly plague army up to NY to fight it just to see how the classic adversaries fair against each other.
