2010 Stronghold Store Program

The Stronghold Store program is AEG’s innovative store support program designed to reward stores that actively grow the player bases for L5R and other AEG games. In 2009 AEG focused on the Imperial Gift and the learn-to-play summer. 2010 is the 15th anniversary of L5R and as you can expect the focus of our year is on celebrating and having fun.

How the program works

* Stronghold Stores actively work with AEG and the player base to make L5R a more rewarding experience.
* The rewards listed below are measured through the active participation of players in the L5R Imperial Assembly Fan Club.
* Each level of the reward program represents just 3 Imperial Assembly members who have declared an individual retail establishment as their store of choice for purchasing L5R products.
* Each month, we will check our Stronghold Store database to track the community-building progress of each Stronghold Store, and as each participating store accrues more Imperial Assembly members, it and its players will earn greater the rewards*. This is the best way for us to verify that we are working with active brick-and-mortar stores, and that the programs and promotions are reaching the people they are intended for.

Stronghold Store Level Rewards

Tracking the progress of a community within a stronghold store is done by tracking the number of Imperial Assembly members linked to a store. As more Assembly members link to a store, the store increases its level in the program. As a store increases in level, additional support is shipped to the store in the form of Level Rewards. The chart below indicates what a store receives based on their Stronghold Store level.

(January) Imperial Assembly Store Package: This package includes token packs, and three free 2-issue subscriptions to the Imperial Assembly for NEW members to the Assembly.
2 6 IA Members
(April) Hantei Cards for the Myth: Pantheons: A new stand-alone card game, Myth is a trick-taking game about powerful gods battling for control of cities and followers. The main game has 10 gods to choose from, but your L5R players will have another option! This reward will contain packages of 5 L5R-inspired Myth cards that will be sent to Stronghold Stores of level 2 when the Myth card game ships in April.
3 9 IA Members
(TBD) Discount Coupon: This coupon is good for $20.00 off the total of one purchase of an L5R Celestial Edition Expansion Pre-Release Tournament Kit.
4 12 IA Members
(October) 15th Anniversary Party: At Level 4, the reward is a L5R 15th anniversary party package. All level 4 or higher stores will get a party package to celebrate our 15th anniversary in style with your current and new players.
5 15 IA Members
(January) Celestial Edition L5R Singles Binder: This card-game binder will include seed cards which you can use for prizes or as part of your stores single card sales program. A benefit that only AEG supports through this program
6 18 IA Members
(September) Free Board Game: AEG will send you one of our popular board games for your store for free. This item will have a minimum value of $50.00 and will be awarded in September of 2010.
7 21 IA Members
(February) AEG Raffle Pack: The AEG Raffle Pack, which will include 4 prizes and 200 raffle tickets. We suggest you give one raffle ticket with each L5R booster pack or other AEG purchase. (If your state or country does not allow raffles then you can determine how you wish to distribute the prizes).
8 24 IA Members
(October) Super Greed: 300 Rare cards for you to use to use to perk sales of your L5R booster packs to your players.
9 27 IA Members
(November) Celestial Edition/Expansion Booster Pack Display: Simple but effective the level 9 reward remains the same for the 3rd year.
10 30 IA Members
(August) L5R CCG Level-10 Storyline Event: Stores that hold their Level 10 status for one year or that gain Level 10 status will be part of the new series of exclusive Level 10 Storyline Events.
15 45 IA Members
(July) Mega Game Unique Storyline: Stores of Level 15 or higher will be part of a unique Storyline Event tied to the Mega Game.
20 60 IA Members
(TBD) Make A Card Event: Stores of Level 20 or higher will be offered an event or contest to get a card into the game. The winner may submit a card to the Design Team which they will use as their inspiration for designing a card. The card will carry both the name of the store and the name of the player who wins the contest.
Other Benefits for L5R Stronghold Stores

Throughout the year, AEG creates new promotions that fall outside of the Reward Levels list. These promotions are available to all Stronghold Stores regardless of store level. We these come up, we send an email out to all Stronghold Stores to let you know when they are coming, what’s included and what your store needs to do to participate. In most cases, new promotions are shipped automatically to all level 1+ stores. Level 0 stores (less than 3 Assembly members) still have access to these promotions, but are required to request them.

A note on shipping: The ship month indicated in the Rewards chart is our target to release a particular level of kit. On the month indicated, we will ship a level kit to all stores of that level and above. If your store has not reached that level by the time the kit ships, that store will receive their kit for that level the month after they reach the level in question. For example, if the store reaches level 2 in April (after the level 2 kit ships), they would receive their level 2 kit in May.
