To give credit where credit is due, this scenario comes from Chriss, the TO at our Fashion Square Mall store. He runs great events every Friday at 6pm.
Welcome to Panem! Home of the Hunger Games. 2 Tributes are chosen from each district to battle it out (battle royale style), winner takes all. Will you bring home glory for your district or will your life be used up for entertaining the masses?
Players will purchase 3 Gravity Feed figures (any set - all though the Galactic Guardians GF set will be out!). You will open your figures and line them up from most expensive to cheapest. Same cost figures will fill more than 1 place. For example if you pull 2 100 point figures and 1 40 point figure, the 40 point will be your low while your 100 pointers will be both your high and middle.
Each player will draw a number to signify which District they will represent. Each district will have 2 members. After districts are chosen, players will draw to see which of their tributes will be going to the Hunger Games.
Tributes from different districts may form alliances, if they choose. NO CRY BABIES allowed. If you can't handle being backstabbed in a game DO NOT PLAY.
Rules:
>Maps will be compressed together to form one giant map.
>Tributes will roll for initiative at the start of each round. Play will follow clockwise from "player 1".
>All tributes will begin near the center of all the maps. On your first turn you may only use a move action. No attacks or targeting figures allowed on the first turn only (Perplex, Outwit, etc). After that, its every man for himself (or herself). Points will be kept for fun but will have 0 effect on the result. The goal is to be the last tribute standing.
>Feats, objects, special bonuses and hindrances will be around the board. You may pick one thing up each turn by simply moving adjacent to it. No grabbing an object, a feat, and a special bonus in one movement.
>Other players may choose to not hinder movement of opposing figures. A player can ask another player to not hinder their movement. If they agree (no take-backs) the opposing figure does not stop their movement nor has to roll breakaway to move.
> No Action After Taxi will be waived for this game! If a flier carries a non-flier, the carried figure can take any action they want when it is the controller's turn.
>The Gamesmakers and Sponsors: As the Gamesmaker, I will have plenty of tricks up my sleeve to keep the game moving forward including a secret clock. Think hot potato. You don't want it going off when its your turn (and you don't want to be near the tribute when the clock goes off). Also, players that do things that help other tributes or are impressive due to their moxie can earn some help from a sponsor. Its random help. Also, backstabbing is looked down upon by the sponsors (not the Gamesmaker) so really think about what you promise to do.
> When a tribute is KO'd you are out of the Hunger Games. Stay and watch, help me out, or go home. Its up to you.
Prize: Infinity Gauntlet Adam Warlock for the sole surviving winner of the first Hunger Game (+ the honor of being named the first champion). The district member that shares the winner's district will get a One True Ring as a condolence.
Examples:
My tribute is the Hulk. I make an alliance with a nearby Dr. Strange. This allows me to copy his Defenders TA (with my Wildcard team ability) and give him my 18 defense. At the same time, I get to use Strange's ES/D so Hulk has a 20 defense at range. On Strange's turn, he can carry Hulk as long as both players agree. In this tournament, Hulk may perform an action when his turn comes around even though he was carried.
Sadly, as the game winds down, Hulk must break his alliance and punch Dr. Strange really hard for 3 damage. In retaliation, Strange uses his Probability Control to help a passing by Silver Surfer blast Hulk for 3 damage. And so the Hunger Games go on...
I expect this game to be really fun and I hope you can all make it. While the first few turns may be a little slow (14-20 turns is a lot) as the tributes get knocked off the game will move faster and faster. Alliances will be key in surviving but when they breakdown they will be game changing moments. Every figure has a chance of winning whether its the 40 point Skrull Assassin or the 149 point Power Cosmic HSS Silver Surfer. It will come down to how you play the game!
Hope to see ya'll there.
-Ted
